After years of feeling like I was from a different planet, it was a huge relief to finally be diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and SPD at the age of thirty. Suddenly my struggles made sense and I breathed a sigh of relief that it was not just me being difficult.
Work in Progress is an honest and vulnerable journey through the struggles, finding the understanding from my diagnosis, but not being defined by it. Instead seeing the uniqueness and beauty in the way I have been designed.
In this book I share the story behind the songs, some of the journey I have been on and the truths I have learnt. My hope is that my openness and vulnerability will help you on your journey, and with your own mountains you must climb. You don’t need to be defined by your label or challenges – you are uniquely and wonderfully made.
“For I’m not made wrong, I’m just made differently,
and I have got a song inside my heart to sing.
Would you help me learn how to embrace the gifts within me?
To see the beauty in the mystery.”
